Crime:   See It.  Text It.  Stop It. Midland Crime Stoppers is proud to announce a new crime fighting tool.  The public will now be able to submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers by sending a text message.

To send Midland Crime Stoppers an anonymous text message:

• Text TIP247 plus your message to CRIMES (274637)
• The keyword TIP247 must appear on the first line of your text message in order to reach Midland Crime Stoppers
• You will then receive an automatic text message reply that will contain your confidential ID number
• Midland Crime Stoppers will be able to send text messages back to you without knowing your cell phone number to ask questions or gather more information.  

 

Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement:  Fear and Lack of Concern.

Crime Stoppers provides a telephone number, WebTips and now Text-A-Tip to  encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information that would be helpful  to law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.

Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest and/or  indictment of a felony offender.

Crime Stoppers relies on volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors and tax deductible contributions from the public in order to operate the administration of the program.
