Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff’s Office need your help in solving a Residential Burglary.
Sometime between 10:00 a.m. on August 7th and 7:40 a.m. on August 8th, someone had broken into the victim’s house and took the following items:
Ø Sony Portable DVD Player model #DVP-FX 950
Ø 60 Silver Dollars
Ø Green velveteen jewelry box that contained a gold baby ring with diamond, silver baby ring with “T” initial, gold dome type ring with swirls, James Avery shell ring with matching earrings, gold heart necklace with diamond on heart, diamond cluster necklace, gold ball earrings, gold wedding band without stone, pearl cluster earrings and lots of costume jewelry.

| 8/20/2010 - CRIME OF WEEK - AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - MPD |
Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving an Aggravated Assault.
On Monday July 19th, Midland Police responded to the 1000 block of Austin Street. Officers found a 69-year old white male later identified as Charlie Sprayberry laying in the roadway next to his vehicle.
There have been conflicting stories as to what happened to Mr. Sprayberry including that this could have been a road rage incident. The victim told officers that a Rust or Brown colored vehicle possibly a AMC Gremlin cut him off in traffic. Sprayberry further states that 3 to 4 white males assaulted him after they pulled over in the 1000 block of Austin. There were several good Samaritans that stopped to render aid to Sprayberry after the attack; however, no one actually saw Sprayberry being attacked.
Charlie Sprayberry suffered some very serious injuries in this attack. Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff’s Office need your help in solving an Oil Field Theft case.
Deputies were called to a Theft at the Cassleman Lease #615 located at Tom Craddick Highway and State Highway 158. A 2005 Yanmar Mini Excavator Model #V1035D and an Black 18 foot CM Flatbed Trailer with ramps were taken. The trailer and excavator were last seen August 4th with the excavator parked on the trailer.

On Monday July 12th, Midland Police responded to a Business Burglary at the Rogers Ford Auto Repair Center located at 4200 W. Wall St.
The point of entry was the north bay door where the burglars then forced their way into an inner office where they pried open a safe using tools from the business. A substantial amount of cash was taken and the burglars exited the business the same way they entered.

On July 26th deputies were called to Teen Challenge located at 6901 S County Rd 1200 in reference to a stolen utility trailer. The trailer contained several tools which include:
Ø Lincoln Ranger 250 GXT welder with the Teen Challenge logo welded to the top of the welder
Ø Weather Guard black diamond plated toolbox
Ø Victor cutting torch rig with bottles mounted on the trailer
Ø Makita grinder and chop saw
Ø And several hundred dollars in other tools

On Tuesday June 29th, Midland Police responded to a drive-by shooting at 511 E. Estes. A 21 year old male was shot while walking home and was found in the driveway suffering gunshot wounds to his leg and arm.
Witnesses heard several gunshots and saw a black male driving a Gold colored Ford Expedition leave the scene traveling east on Estes.

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving an Aggravated Assault.
Officers responded to a drive by shooting at 3900 Tanner on Sunday July 4th at 12:18 a.m. A man and a woman inside were shot while in different parts of the house. It appears that the weapon used to shoot into the house is a .40 caliber. Seven shell casings were found in the street in front of the house.
The fact that someone would shoot into a residence with the intent to kill or harm someone is of great concern.

On June 16th, deputies were called to 14207 West County Rd 122 regarding a residential burglary that occurred sometime during the day. Taken in the burglary was a ladies white gold ring with a flower design with baguette diamonds on each side, a white gold ring with a square top design with diamonds on the top but not on the sides, a women’s Bulova chronograph watch with diamonds around the face and a 42 inch Sony television.

| 7/2/2010 - CRIME OF WEEK - HIT & RUN FATALITY - MPD |
Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving a Hit and Run Fatality.
On Friday June 18th, Midland Police responded to a fatality motorcycle accident on the south service road of the 2500 block of Interstate 20.
The 45 year old victim Guadalupe Loredo was westbound on the south service road of I-20 on a Green 1982 Kawasaki motorcycle when according to witnesses, the motorcycle approached the yield sign at the same time a Black Chevrolet ½ ton Pickup traveling eastbound was exiting the Interstate.
Loredo laid the motorcycle down and went into a sideways slide which caused Loredo to be ejected from the motorcycle. The driver of the Black Chevrolet pickup took evasive action to miss the motorcycle but in doing so, struck Loredo and killed him instantly. Witnesses report that the suspect vehicle slowed down, but did not stop to render aid and then fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was last seen turning south on Cotton Flat Rd.

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff’s Office need your help in solving a Theft of Equipment.
Deputies were called to 13370 W. Hwy 191 in reference to theft of a trailer containing construction equipment. Taken was a North American 2007 enclosed trailer containing 2 Miller Trailblazer Bobcat Welders, 1 Victor Cutting Torch with bottles mounted on a blue dolly, a blue Quincy Compressor with a red Honda engine, 2 metal panel cutters, 42 metal panels that are 3 ft wide and 16 ft long and 8,000 dollars worth of other tools. There was a total amount of $30,000 dollars worth of equipment taken.
The trailer was recovered on Sunglow and South County Rd 1207 just south of I-20 and east of Midkiff. The tools had all been taken out of the trailer before it was left by the side of the road.
