4/18/2008 - Vehicle Burglaries - Midland Police Department

This week Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in solving multiple Vehicle Burglaries.

Midland Police detectives are investigating several vehicle burglaries that have occurred at several business and church parking lots over the past two months.  Witnesses in two vehicle burglaries have a description of a White male, 40-50 years old, 6`0-6`2, 220-230 pounds with black and gray hair, clean shaven and dark complexion.  Suspect was last seen driving a Dark Blue 1998-2003 model Ford SUV with key pad entry and tan molding over the wheel.  It is possibly an Eddie Bauer Edition.

This individual is responsible for at lease five vehicle burglaries and there are over twenty more that fit his method of operation.

4/11/2008 - Midland County Sheriff`s Office - Theft over $1,500

This week Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff`s Office need your help in solving a Theft over $1,500.

Deputies responded to a Theft on March 9th, where the victim advised that sometime within the past two weeks of the report being made, an unknown suspect or suspects had stolen the victim`s trailer from the 900 block of Advanced Street.  The suspect(s) gained entry through an unsecured gate on the property and took the trailer without the owners consent.

The trailer is described as a Red 2004 Diamond 20ft steel bed car trailer, with rear ramps, an 800 pound winch and a spare tire on a white spoke wheel mounted on the front.   The trailer and its components combined have a estimated value of $3,100.

Although there are no suspect(s) descriptions in this case, someone may have seen something or knows someone who recently obtained a new trailer like the one described above.   If you are the first person to call with information on the theft of this trailer and it leads to an arrest or indictment, it will be worth a $1,000 cash reward.  So call 432-694-TIPS or 1-800-7-LOCKUP.  You may also submit a tip online.  You will remain anonymous and no caller ID is ever used.


4/4/2008 - Midland Police Department - Drive-By Shooting

This week Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in solving a Drive-By Shooting.

 

On Saturday March 29th at 2:46 am, the Midland Police Department responded to a shots fired call at the Summer Hill Apartment complex located at 3001 North Midland Dr.   During the investigation, police found 11 Winchester .40 caliber casings on the east side of Midland Dr. in the northbound traffic lane between the south alley of Greenbriar St and on Greenbriar St.  The investigation revealed that several rounds struck the inside of the apartment.  This is a particulary heinous crime due to the fact that a mother and three small children occupied the apartment.

 

Midland Police are looking for a vehicle of interest described as a Black low-rider truck with red LED lights across the back of the truck at bumper level.

3/14/2008 - Midland County Sheriff`s Office - Theft Over $15,000

This week Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff`s Office need your help in solving a Theft Over $15,000.

On February 13th at approximately 12:00pm, the victim advised he had unloaded his trailer with a Red Mahindra Front End Loader on it at a construction side off the North Service road of Interstate 20.  The victim returned to the site on February 14th at 3:00pm and the front end loader he had left on the trailer was gone.  The victim has no idea who could have or would have taken the front end loader.  The estimated value of the property is more than $15,000.

3/7/2008 - Midland Police Department - Felony Theft of Copper Wiring

This week Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in solving the Felony Theft of Copper Wiring.

 

On Thursday, February 28th, Rig Maintenance Service located at 704 Technology Street reported the theft of oilfield equipment known as “loop hose”.   The loop hose has copper wiring inside the rubber insulation and is quite valuable when it is stripped.  Unknown person(s) broke into the yard where the loop hose was kept and judging by the amount stolen, there was a pickup truck used to take it.

 

This is the second time in less than 2 weeks that this business has been hit.  The total amount stolen in the two thefts is $21,500.
