On December 27, 2021, Midland County Deputies responded to Bobcat Electrical Instruments located at 2705 South County Rd. 1180 in reference to a theft.  The business owner advised that between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., 4 unknown suspects made entry into his yard by cutting the chain link fence and stole 200 ft of primary underground wire, that is approximately $20 a foot, and also took approximately 100 feet of THHN wire, that is approximately $25 a foot, for a total loss of approximately $6,500.

On Sunday, January 29, 2022, around 1:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Midland Inn located at 3302 West Front Street in reference to a robbery. Officers contacted the victim who said someone knocked on his door. The victim briefly opened the door, and the male suspect forced himself inside and began hitting the victim in the face with a gun. The suspect took about $7,000 from the victim and fled the area.
 
Unfortunately, there is not a photo of the suspect. This is why we need your help! The suspect is described as a white bald male with numerous facial tattoos. The victim noticed the suspect was wearing a gray thin hoodie before he was assaulted. The victim could not provide any further description.

Between November 15, 2021, and December 3, 2021, several theft reports have been taken by Midland County regarding the theft of cattle fence panels from Pioneer Resources lease sites. The thefts have all occurred off East County Road 160 between S. Highway 349 and FM 1213.   Approximately 250 fence panels have been stolen all valued at $150 apiece. The total value stolen is over $39,000.

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police department are asking your help in identifying two suspects who stole a dump trailer from 309 West Washington.

On November 23, 2021, around 9:30 p.m., a maroon possible GMC Yukon, with a light bar above the windshield reversed into the locked business. Two men exited the vehicle and one suspect broke the lock to the gate. Immediately, they reversed the vehicle and hooked up a 14 Foot Dump Trailer bearing TX license 373171K, and left the area. The dump trailer is valued at over $8,500. There is a good video of the suspect vehicle at the 0:04:30 mark on the video.

On October 31, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Midland County Deputies responded to a shots fired call at 6806 SCR 1154 in Midland County.    Upon arrival, investigators were called to the scene and learned that one male had been transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Witnesses state that a large fight broke out between unknown people at the party and that an unknown male brandished a firearm and began shooting into the crowd.   Witnesses stated they did not see from who or where the gunshots came from and at this time the shooter has yet to be identified.

Sometime between October 1st and October 4th in the South Midland County area near South County Rd. 1210, suspect (s) accessed this location and burglarized an enclosed trailer, a bucket truck, and stole items from a flatbed trailer. Several of the items stolen were expensive and unusual materials. The estimated value of the stolen items is over $20,000. Attached you will see a list and pictures of the items taken and also a picture of a suspicious vehicle that entered the gate between October 1st and October 4th.

The suspect is described as possibly a Hispanic female and driving around in a newer model SUV.

On May 17th, 2021, Midland County deputies responded to 6003 WCR 123 in reference to a Theft.   Upon arrival, deputies contacted the complainant and supervisor of the company ( Fehr ).    They noticed that a 2011 Yellow CAT Model Number 304D valued at over $20,000 was stolen from their yard.  The suspect or suspects also attempted to break into and steal other heavy machinery without success. The Midland County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division is currently working on some leads to identify the suspect or suspects involved.

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff’s Office need your help solving a Burglary.

 

On July 31st, 2020 Deputies responded to 12406 W. Hwy. 80, Ruhnke's Xtreme Cycles about an alarm. Upon arrival, deputies observed the front glass of the building to be shattered and a Maroon Harley Davidson partially pulled out of the business from the showroom floor. Surveillance video collected shows the suspect prowling around the business and then shooting multiple times into the building, shattering the front glass before gaining entry. We need your help solving a hit & run pedestrian fatality. On Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 10:15 p.m. in the area of Loop 250/Holiday Hill Rd, the victim, Tabitha Garneau, 34 yrs old, was found lying in the roadway.
 
It is believed that between 10:13 p.m. – 10:15 p.m., an unknown vehicle was traveling south in the inside lane of the 3400 block of N Loop 250 when it struck Tabitha as she attempted to cross the main lanes of travel.
 
Midland Police advised that they are looking for a female driver of a red possibly Chevrolet pickup in relation to this fatal crash who they believe to be a witness to the crash, and they are trying to identify her to gain further information. The video of the witness truck is at approximately 10:19 p.m. traveling south on Loop 250 crossing SH 191.
 
If you know the driver of this truck, police are trying to see if she may have more information. Or if you have information on the hit & run suspect, please submit an anonymous tip. Your tip may be the one to help solve this case for her kids and family.

On Tuesday, March 30, 2021, detectives were notified that Ramirez had succumbed to his injuries. The Death Investigator and MPD Crime Scene Unit were notified and responded to Midland Memorial Hospital. Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy has been requested. The investigation is on-going

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department is asking for any information in reference to drive-by shooting that occurred on the 500 block of South Ft. Worth early Saturday morning on March 13, 2021.

Around midnight, officers responded to 306 South Terrell in reference to a gunshot victim. The officer’s noticed a Hispanic male inside the residence with a gunshot to the head. The victim was alive but unresponsive. The victim was taken to the emergency room.

During the investigation, it was found that the victim and his friend were leaving a residence on the 500 block of South Ft. Worth when someone drove by and shot several times at the residence. At the time, the victim, who was conscious, did not know he was hit and left the residence to run an errand.  Minutes later, his friend noticed the victim’s shirt was bloody and asked if he was hit by the drive-by shooting from earlier. The victim then drove back to South Terrell and called 911.

On January 21, 2021, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Midland County Deputies responded to a Burglary at the Quick Track convenience store located at 13920 W. Hwy 80.

 

Upon arrival, Deputies observed that the front glass door was shattered and entry had been made into the store. Video from the store shows a suspect wearing a black hoodie and gray sweat pants with "Addidas" on the left pant leg, gaining entry into the store through the front door and stealing approximately $3,200 worth of E-Cigarettes and Jewel Pods.

On August 23, 2019, at approximately 9 am, deputies responded to the 4100 block of East County Road 63 in reference to a medical call where a male was found unconscious. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Richey D. Stewart, in the sleeper of the semi-truck and determined he was deceased with a single gunshot wound to the chest area. Investigators are currently working this case as a homicide.

On Saturday, May 27, 1995, Carolyn Kolas was found deceased, partially nude in an alley near the 3000 block of West Ohio Street in Midland.  Carolyn was on her routine morning walk in the neighborhood when she was attacked.  Carolyn was looking forward to her upcoming graduation from nursing school.  At the time of her death she was the proud mother of two, a two-year-old and a nine-year old.

Investigators followed the clues, but the case eventually went cold. The Midland Police Department and the Texas Rangers have not given up on solving this case. Recently investigators have reignited the search for the person(s) responsible through updated technology and investigative methods.

On December 1, 2019, at approximately 12:50 am, deputies responded to the 2800 block of South County Road 1194 on a medical call.  Deputies located a male on scene with gunshot wounds and he was transported to the hospital.  Patrol and CID conducted their investigation and determined the victim was shot at his residence. The suspect was later identified as Aaron Enriquez Solano.  An arrest warrant for Attempted Murder was obtained for Aaron Enriquez Solano who remains at large.

We need your help identifying an Aggravated Assault suspect.

On 11-18-2019, at about 7:41PM, the suspect tried to steal a trailer hitch from the victim’s truck at HEB located at 5407 Andrews Highway. The victim came out of HEB and observed the suspect at his truck trying to steal the hitch. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect had a wrench pipe and raised as if he was going to hit the victim.

The suspect got into a Silver GMC Acadia which was parked next to the victim’s Dodge pickup truck. When the suspect attempted to leave, the victim stood behind the suspect’s vehicle to prevent him from leaving. The suspect backed out and struck the victim several times and left at a high rate of speed. The suspect also almost ran over the victim’s wife when she was trying to take a picture of his license plate.

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers and Midland Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in solving a 2009 cold case involving the homicide of Pamela McDonald. A reward of $2,500 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.

 

On April 5, 2009, Pamela McDonald of Midland was reported missing. She was last seen on April 2, 2009 at approximately 1:00 a.m. leaving her residence in her 2001 silver Lincoln Towncar.  Soon after disappearing, her vehicle was located at a rest area in Ward County.   In January 2012, her skeletal remains were located in Upton County not far from the Midland County line.  The case remains unsolved and is currently under active investigation.
